Farm Action Fund Applauds Advancement of RFK Jr.’s Nomination

Today, the United States Senate Committee on Finance favorably reported the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The nomination now moves to the full Senate for a final confirmation vote.

In response, Farm Action Fund issued the following statement, which can be attributed to its Vice President, Angela Huffman:

“Farm Action Fund congratulates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the advancement of his nomination. We urge the full Senate vote to confirm him.

Kennedy has listened to the plight of farmers in America. Both the food our government prioritizes through subsidies and the practices that its policies support are making us sick. We have a chronic disease epidemic, and agriculture is the key to Make America Healthy Again. We look forward to partnership on this critical issue, and we’re encouraged that these kinds of discussions are taking place at the national level for the first time.”

Farm Action Fund’s research-based partner organization, Farm Action, published an analysis of how, if confirmed, Kennedy could strip undue corporate influence over agriculture and achieve a healthier food system.
