Fitzpatrick Longtime Advocate for Rural PA and Healthy Food
Mexico, Missouri –Today, Farm Action Fund’s Rural Independence Initiative announced its endorsement of Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick for the U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 1st district. The Rural Independence Initiative focuses on electing the best federal candidates, regardless of political affiliation, who support local farmers, rural America, and healthy food and challenge corporate monopolies.
Farm Action President and fourth generation farmer Joe Maxwell said, “Brian Fitzpatrick has always been a standout leader about reforming our farm and food system. He helped lead the successful effort to strip the Bayer Monsanto pesticide immunity provision in the Farm Bill and has promoted local food by introducing Farm to School legislation. He believes that anyone who works hard and plays by the rules should be able to achieve the American Dream, That is what the Rural Independence Initiative is all about. For this reason and for his effective bipartisan record, he deserves re-election to Congress.”
